Lee Duk-Gi

Abstract
I described the role of therapist to build rapport, and to stimulate and maintain the motivation in individual psychotherapy of alcoholism.
At first, I considered the factors of therapist which can cause the impediment to the treatment of addiction. Next, I discussed the strategies to deal with denial, being the predictable and integral part of alcoholism in the drinking stage and I
desribed the strategies helping alcoholic accept that their drinking cannot safely be controlled and they have alcoholism that would benefit from specific intervention in the ambivalence stage.
The task of therapist in the early recovery stage is to guide and encourage the activities of addict for recovery and to help patients maintain the identity of addict, and that of ongoing recovery stage is to deal with even the dynamic approach
of emotional and personality problem of addict in addition to the therapeutic activities of the early stage. I explained the major issues with that the therapist should deal for these roles.
A last, I deal with the various factors which can lead to relapse and I desribed the problems which the therapist should understand and treat differently according to the particular stage and blind sports of therapist which can increase the
possibility of relapse in view of relapse prevention.
